Tamara Sneed was born and raised in the Los Angeles
area. She began writing her own stories when she was in elementary
school, and she began reading romance novels in junior high school,
courtesy of an older cousin who had a collection of romance novels
that would have made a librarian weak with envy. After graduating
from Stanford University, Tamara switched coasts to attend law school
at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She survived law
school and returned to Los Angeles to work at an international law
firm, where she practiced civil litigation for two and a half years
and learned not to take criticism about her writing personally.
Tamara wrote throughout college and law school,
and in September 2000, her persistence paid off, with BET Books’ publication
of her first novel, Love
Undercover. Love
Undercover was an instant reader and critic hit and was
nominated for several awards at the 2001 Romance Slam Jam. A
Royal Vow, published in April 2001, increased Tamara’s
popularity among readers. Tamara’s third book, When
I Fall in Love, won more critical praise and the EMMA for Favorite
Romantic Comedy at the 2003 Romance Slam Jam. Tamara joined
St. Martin’s Press in 2002. Her St. Martin’s Press
titles include: You’ve
Got a Hold on Me, All
the Man I Need and Fantasy Man in
the upcoming anthology An All Night Man,
to be released in 2005.
Tamara has been a life-long romance reader and
writer, and enjoys stories where brave heroes and heroines laugh
their way through life and love.
